Sun Shelter in the Snow
It is almost winter now and the north is tilted away from the sun. The days are short and there is not much need for a sun shelter.
Still, it stands there close to the red barn on Prince of Wales Drive. Ottawa Magazine described it as “an open and airy structure, sinuously wavy, like a ripple across a pond”. That was in August. Now it is more like a ripple across a snowdrift. Regardless, it still strikes a splendid pose. We are grateful for Ottawa Magazine’s exposure of this remarkable structure. Feel free to visit the sun shelter in winter. Walk the grounds. Dog walkers trample trails in the snow. Or try cross-country skiing. Take some photos. Enjoy. Beauty never closes.
