Canadensis Presents: A Virtual visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape Town, SA

Virtual Visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden with Alice Notten, Environmental Interpretation Officer who will lead us through the beauty, diversity and magnificence of Kirstenbosch. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is acclaimed as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Few gardens can match the sheer grandeur of the setting of Kirstenbosch, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch grows only indigenous South African plants. The Kirstenbosch estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. The cultivated garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country.

Guest Speaker: Alice Notten, Environmental Interpretation Officer at Kirstenbosch. Alice is a horticulturist and a botanist, and has worked at Kirstenbosch for 30 years.
