DOME-OCRACY: Interactive Sound Experiences for All!

This summer, Canadensis Garden and Mixed Metaphors (Jesse Stewart and Matthew Edwards) invite the public to experience Dome-ocracy – a series of free interactive sound experiences inside a geodesic dome at Canadensis Garden in Ottawa.

Presented as part of the Ottawa 200 celebrations, the series transforms the dome into a playful environment for collaborative music-making, listening, and exploration.

The opening event, Ludophone Jam, takes place Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features colourful interactive sound sculptures called ludophones – playful instruments designed for accessible and collaborative music-making.

Visitors of all ages are invited to experiment with sound, creativity, and play. No musical experience required.
