Celebrate National Tree Day at Canadensis Garden!
Join us for a day of hands-on activities and exploration as we celebrate trees at every stage of life – from seeds and seedlings to newly planted trees and the magnificent mature trees growing throughout Canadensis.
We’re taking “rock music” literally.
As part of the Ottawa 200 celebrations and Mixed Metaphors’ DOME-OCRACY series, join us at Canadensis Garden on Saturday, September 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to make music with stones — rocks that ring, resonate, click and clack, making sounds you might not expect.
Join us for an evening of outdoor theatre as A Company of Fools returns to Canadensis Garden with this year’s Shakespeare in the Park production, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Set against the sun-soaked backdrop of the Greek Islands, this lively adaptation blends Shakespeare with the music and spirit of ABBA in a joyful celebration of love, laughter and a little fairy magic. Whether you’re a longtime Shakespeare fan or experiencing it for the first time, it’s a wonderful evening to share with family and friends.

What happens when a marble run becomes a musical instrument?
Find out on Saturday, August 1, when Canadensis Garden presents Musical Marble Run, a free, hands-on experience for all ages.
A giant wooden marble run will be set up inside the geodesic dome. As marbles travel through the course, they strike tuned metal chimes, creating melodies along the way. Every marble follows a different path, making each musical experience unique.
GOING-GOING-GONG: Interactive Gong Experience
Join us Saturday, July 4 for GOING-GOING-GONG, a unique interactive sound experience presented by Canadensis Garden and Mixed Metaphors as part of the DOME-OCRACY Interactive Music Series and Ottawa 200.
Taking place inside the geodesic dome at Canadensis Garden, GOING-GOING-GONG transforms the space into an immersive sound environment featuring suspended gongs that respond to movement and participation.
